As a property nears a low-inventory period, hotels will sharply reduce rates, reinforcing the guest’s belief that waiting until the last minute leads to savings.

Do not channel these rates

Qualified rates are not permitted on metasearch, including:

• Local or resident rates (including in-state resident offers)

• Promotions requiring ID verification

• Government rates

• Military rates

• AAA/AARP rates

• Corporate or negotiated rates

• Group rates

• Member-only or loyalty rates that require sign-in or membership verification

• Any other rate requiring a qualification or proof of eligibility
  

General rule

If a guest must qualify for a rate by providing an ID, membership, employment status, residency, or any other eligibility requirement, do not channel that rate to hotel metasearch.

If a promotion is publicly available to all guests without qualification, it should be made available through hotel metasearch.
